Welcome to Asian Polyolefin Workshop
2023 (APO2023)
On
behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to cordially invite you for
participation of Asian Polyolefin Workshop 2023 (APO2023), which will be held
in Todai-Ji (cultural center), Nara, Japan (December
10-14, 2023).
The
APO symposium was initiated in Nara 2005 by expansion of the bilateral
polyolefin workshop between Japan and Korea starting from 1988 in Gyeongju. Since Asian countries experienced remarkable
economic growth in the decade, the importance of polyolefin technology to
support the growth had thus been considered. The APO was thus planned to
provide a venue for Asian scientists and engineers identifying and exploring
the areas of common interests. The APO symposium was organized successfully and
was introduced developments and research activities on polyolefin technology in
Asia. The APO meeting was then held in Hangzhou (2007), Seoul (2009), Bangkok
(2011), Beijing (2013), Tokyo (2015), Tianjin (2017), Hiroshima (2019), and Bangkok
(2021, On Line). This will be thus the 10th symposium, and the IAB members
decided to organize in Nara on this occasion.
The
aim of this workshop is that all the scientists and engineers who engage in
polyolefin technology in Asian countries meet together in order not only to
exchange their ideas but also to make a good human relationship. The organizers
believe that this workshop would donate the progress of polyolefin technology
in Asia which should lead technology and economy in the 21st century.
The topics in this symposium are (1) olefin polymerization catalysts, (2)
synthesis of new, fine polymers, (3) structure and property analysis polyolefins,
(4) engineering aspects of olefin polymerization, (5) sustainable approaches,
chemical recycling. The symposium consists of Plenary Lectures, Keynote
Lectures, Invited Lectures, Contributed Papers, and Poster Session.
We are highly welcome to the participants not only from Asian countries,
but also from the other area (Europe, USA, Canada etc.) on this good occasion.
As
most of you know, Nara was the oldest capital of Japan (ca. 1300 years ago),
and the symposium hall (Todai-Ji, Kinsho
hall) is located in the center of the sightseeing area. The banquet will be organized in a
restaurant in the Nara national museum.
There are many other sightseeing spots in the city within walking
distance. Since Nara is a compact
city, you will enjoy all spectacular atmosphere in Nara during the
symposium.
We
highly look forward to seeing you in Tokyo on this good occasion, and hope to
enjoy the meeting as well as fantastic atmosphere in this area.
Yours sincerely,
Kotohiro Nomura, Prof. Ph.D.
